Start Planning Your 2023 Trade Shows
When you return to work after the “holidaze”, you have a new calendar year chocked full of marketing programs to implement. If you are new to trade show management you should know that effective trade show marketing requires time.
To get the best exhibit and graphic designs, choice pre-show promotion options, and lower rates on everything from show services to transportation and installation – requires advance planning. Insufficient time or “rushing” creates undue stress on people and production which can produce costly mistakes. In addition, inadequate time can be expensive whether you miss opportunities, take short cuts, expedite delivery, or incur rush charges.
The truth is, it’s NEVER too early to start your trade show plans. So why not take time out now to note key dates on your 2023 calendar. Add your trade show event dates and then make a “note to self” at least 4-5 months prior to each trade show date. This will serve as a trigger date to map out the game plan for each event. Here’s a short list of the items you will likely start on that trigger date:
- Determine show objectives
- Generate marketing messages
- Meet with your exhibit partner(s) to develop creative solutions for display and graphics
- Begin the show marketing plan: sponsorships, social media, press, customer hospitality, promotions, collateral, etc.
